Message from Dr. Ephlin, Principal

It has been a great start to the spring semester. I have enjoyed meeting with students and parents over these first few weeks. Everyone has been very welcoming! I was also very excited to award over 200 students honor roll certificates at our recent assembly. Great things are happening at Hernandez middle school! Please know that I am available for you if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to call me at 512-424-8800 if you should need anything.

Hernandez Heroes

Hernandez HEROes are honest, demonstrate excellence, show respect, and take ownership every day in every situation.

Hernandez 7th Graders Are Teaming Up with Austin Well Aware for Their International Baccalaureate (IB) Community Service Project This Year

As part of our Well Aware joint service project this year (The Ripple Effect of Water), each of the grades has a specific focus. Our 7th graders are currently studying the science behind clean water as part of their unit on ANALYZING ECOSYSTEMS .

On Wednesday, Nov. 7, two representatives (Jessica and Erin) from Well Aware linked our 7th grade Science students with Well Aware's technical team and hydrogeologist currently in east Africa.

The students were excited to see their team 1/2 way around the world, and see the science behind the drilling of a new well!
