Reading Parade!
Please line students up, opposed to grouping them together. There should be plenty of room. This helps all costumes to be seen. Ms. Duvall and Douglas the Dino will start the parade, 4th will follow, then 3rd, then 2nd and so on.
Everyone will file into the cafeteria & sit in their DinoBeat spot. Ms. Duvall will read Sitting Ducks, and then you are dismissed back to your classrooms.
Please remember the purpose of the day: to get kids excited about reading. Thank you for supporting this goal for our campus!
To purchase or not to purchase...that is the question.
Campus Improvement Plan Goals
A Note from Nicole
After two weeks of PLCPs, Jessica, Dawn and I have spent time talking about how they have been progressing. From our perspective, they are moving in a great direction. Thank you to the PLC Coaching Academy team members for putting together team agendas that are specific to your teams’ needs and for involving our specials teachers as much as possible. Conversations have been focused and many best practices for instruction are being shared. Even with all the talk of BOY assessments, the lesson planning template, DRA and Guided reading trainings and Dino time planning, we are still managing to find time to discuss instructional needs for students in our PLCPs. If you feel differently about your time spent in PLCPs, please come talk to Jessica or me, or the coach on your team, as we want PLCs to be who we are, not what we do. The purpose of this planning time is to discuss what is best for kids, their learning and to focus your teaching through continued collaboration. You’re doing it, and you’re making it great.
Thank you!!!
Next Up: Camp Dino (Parent Orientation)
Dino Time OFFICIALLY Starts Next Week!
Use these ladies efficiently and please have materials chosen for them. If given enough time, they may be able to make copies and such, but they are not required to choose WHAT will be done during that time. That's the classroom teacher's job.
Please keep their groups small. Over 5 or 6 is ineffective for intervention; in addition, they do not have classrooms to take large groups.
