Notes from the Teacher

Save the Date! The Central Elementary Music program will be Tuesday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Meyer, the music teacher, will send a more formal letter home at a later date.


I have graded your child's persuasive letter. You can access their final draft via their google drive.


Student council is sponsoring The Pet Project from Monday, Jan 11-Friday, Jan 29 for the Porter County Animal Shelter.


Donations can be left on the table by the cafeteria.

Subjects

In math, we will continue in Unit 4-Long Division and Fractions. We will continue the fraction section on this next week.


In Writing, we will continue our next unit of study-Biographies. We will brainstorm questions for our biographies (about someone we live with) and look at the research process to help us write our biographies.


In Language Arts, we will continue Unit 5-Pronouns. We will look at object pronouns, colons and hyphens, and a mixed review lesson.


In Reading, we will have our Unit 6 test on Tuesday. We will have a Simple 6 writing lesson and complete our next round of NWEA testing in reading and math.


In Social Studies, we will start Unit 5-The American Revolution. We will return to the flipped model where students read the material at home and complete discussion and activities in class.
