A Note from Ms. Coyle

We had a great end to our week! We had our American Heart Association Challenge celebration!! There were several activities outside and we ended by making some human sundaes with the help of Miss D, Miss I, and Miss Sonja! I will share some fun pictures on our Facebook page over the next few days. Thank you to Mrs. Newman for organizing and for all of our helpers! NWEA makeups will be completed next week. Reports will be sent home with report cards after the last day of school. Next week is busy! Our 3rd grade will be visiting Hoover on Tuesday. That is always an exciting day for students! That evening, our 3rd grade will be performing in their music program. See info below for exact times! Have a wonderful weekend. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or your child!

A Note from Mrs. Peacock

Our school is participating in the Resilient Youth Initiate (RYI), which provides evidence-based programs to prevent student drug and alcohol use and improve academic, social, and emotional outcomes. The program is funded by North Central Health Services (NCHS). NCHS has asked RTI International (a nonprofit research organization in Durham, North Carolina) to evaluate how well the program is working. Students will take the survey starting next week. The letter below tells you about the evaluation and allows you to decline your child’s participation, if you prefer. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Third Grade Music Program- May 17th

Team C (Blakley, Brown, Brumett, McCutchan, McCord) performs at 5:30.

Morning Drop Off

We've made some updates to our morning drop-off procedures. You might have noticed the addition of orange cones in the unloading area. Due to the increased number of vehicles getting out of line & bypassing other cars after dropping students off, we've added these cones to ensure the safety of all students. PLEASE do not get out of the line, even if your student has already exited your vehicle.

In addition, there is room for 4 cars to unload at a time. You do not have to wait until you're in front of the door for your student to exit your vehicle. We will have staff on the sidewalk making sure the line is moving as quickly as possible.

Also, our car rider door closes and locks at 7:50am. After this time, you MUST drop your student off at the main doors. Please do not leave your student at the car rider door if it is not attended by a staff member.

Thank you for helping us keep the students and parking lot safe!
