What is Flipgrid?
Flipgrid is a video discussion platform. It allows students to create a short video to respond to a topic. The topic, provided by the teacher, can be about anything going on in the classroom. Think about that capturing student reflections on the latest book they read or explanations that show how to solve a math problem. Imagine the usefulness of giving their independent reading a purpose or having students demonstrate the different strategies they used to solve a word problem. You can do that today with Flipgrid!

How can You use Flipgrid with Your Students?
- Have students share thanks for the support from their family.
- Students can video themselves leaving a message for students coming up to their grade level next year. They can include thoughts about what to expect and tips that might make things easier.
- Post a Word Problem of the Day in the format of Would you Rather Math. This site might give you some ideas.
- Just for fun: Share art or an activity and record a description. (Will be a good fit for shy students as well. They can show off their projects instead of their faces)
