https://secure.safevisitorsolutions.com/Safe/Visitor/grapevineTuesday evening will be the deadline for filling out the Fast Pass. If you can't get it done by then, you'll have to sign in at the kiosk on Thursday.
Please remember that siblings aren't allowed at holiday parties (older or younger) due to size and supervision restrictions.
Say thank you to Glenhope teachers...
If you would like to send a shout-out to a Glenhope staff member, here's a form you can use to do so:
https://forms.gle/rgQ8i5Tsyzr5eah87It simply asks for their name and why you'd like to recognize them. Thank you for sharing your positive thoughts about our Glenhope staff! Thanks to those who have already taken a minute to do so. These shouts outs are shared directly with the teacher and also in the staff newsletter each week!
Holiday Breakfast
The PTA breakfast is tomorrow from 8-10 am! You'll want to come eat delicious food donated by Macs on Main and visit with Santa.
RESPONSIBLE & SAFE DIGITAL CITIZENS
In a world filled with technology choices, we want to partner with you in making sure your children become responsible, digital citizens. Glenhope is working toward an initiative of becoming a Common Sense Media school. In doing this, we will be sharing tools to help your families navigate the ups and downs of raising kids in the digital age. Below is a tool that will help inform you of ways you can practice healthy media habits at home.
Communication reminders!
Also, remember that we don't dismiss students after 2:30 until the dismissal bell rings. If you need them for a doctor's appointment or for some other reason, you need to pick them up prior to 2:30.
Also in January, we're going to change our policy slightly to require all calls for arrangement changes to be made prior to 2:00. We have had some difficulties with last minute changes affecting students and we want to limit any confusion. After the winter break, if you call after 2:00 with a change, we won't be able to tell your child or the teachers to change your student's after school pick up arrangement.
Save the Date
Cross Timbers Middle School has been selected to be featured on NBC 5’s Brag About Your School! Please join us for a community-wide pep rally at Cross Timbers at January 13 at 4 p.m. and help show your CTMS and GCISD Spirit!
Play It Safe!
Play It Safe! is a personal safety and abuse avoidnce program that is presented at an age-appropriate level by The Women's Center of Tarrant County, Inc. They will be visiting all classrooms at Glenhope on Monday, January 27, 2020.
GCISD's Counseling Department is hosting a parent preview of the program on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the GCISD Administration Building. If you are unable to attend either of the parent previews, but wish to view the material, please contact The Women's Center of Tarrant County, Inc. at 817-927-4040 and ask for the Play It Safe! department. They will schedule a time for you to visit their center and view the videos.

Technology use at school
An unexpected observation we made during recent data collection was that only 40-45% of our classrooms were using technology during the data collection periods. I'm often asked by parents how much technology is being used, so I thought it would be important to share what we'd learned. This was a small sample of time and we will continue to collect data during this year which I'll share again in the future.
Leap into Wellness
Attendance rates
For the second 6 weeks it was 97.62.
Please remember as you're considering possible trips that absences really impact your student's learning. While vacations can provide great opportunities, we'd really like you to plan those during times that won't impact your student's learning time!
