February 2021 News

“As Lent is the time for greater love, listen to Jesus’ thirst… ‘Repent and believe.’” Saint Teresa of Calcutta

Hello, SMCS alumni!

My name is Brett Baehman and I am the new alumni and communications coordinator at SMCS. I am thrilled and grateful to join St. Mary Catholic Schools.

I report to Beth Knapinski, the new senior director of strategic advancement at SMCS. Beth graduated from SMCHS in 2012 and is excited to rejoin SMCS. I look forward to creating deep connections and learning about SMCS, whether past, present, or future.

If you need anything, have any information for me or would simply like to meet me in person, I will always make time for you. I look forward to the opportunities that come along with this job.

To learn a little more about me, visit the SMCS staff directory, new hire press release or email me at bbaehman@smcatholicschools.org.

Thank you for welcoming me into the SMCS family and go Zephyrs!

Alumni Updates

Rachel (Brown) Eggert ('09) and her husband, Ryan, are happy to announce the arrival of their first child, Carson Michael Eggert. Carson was born on Jan. 19.

"As first time parents, we look forward to instilling the values and skills in Carson that we learned from our parents. We can't wait to watch him grow and develop into who God created him to be," Rachel said.

Ivy (Griffith) Nicholson ('11) and her husband, Nick, were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Daisy Elizabeth Nicholson, Jan. 14.

"What excites me the most is watching Daisy grow and develop into her own person," Ivy said.

Welcome to the SMCS family, Carson and Daisy!
