Term 3 - Week 8- Thursday 3rd September 2020
From the Principal's Desk…
Our term is flying by and we are approaching the end of Stage Four restrictions and that is something I know everyone is happy about. It has been a very challenging time for all. As we come to the end of this term the teachers are now busy planning for term four. In teams they have conducted an audit of the Curriculum planners with the view to prioritising what is paramount to be covered in term four. We will be doing a 'less is more' approach – less topics but going deeper. This is to ensure that our students have a more comprehensive understanding of specific areas within Literacy and Numeracy.
In our newsletter this week we hear from our House Captains about Remote Learning. Thank you captains – I enjoyed reading about your time at home and also seeing your photos. There is also a photo of a replica of the Titanic, this was created by four of our students who have been working onsite. I think you will agree they did a magnificent job! Well done to Liam, Caleb, Hudson and Aidan. Again teachers have used this forum to showcase the work of their students. It is fantastic to see all of the wonderful contributions our students are making. The standard of work during this very challenging times has been outstanding.
Ali Bryan our P.E. teacher has been working with HHS regarding R U OK? day next week. She has come up with fantastic ideas for our students and teachers to do onsite and remotely. Information regarding this is also included in the newsletter. Look out for one of our families in the local paper next week showcasing what they completed.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. You are all doing an amazing job!!! As soon as I know what term four is going to look like for HPS I will let you know. We as a staff have everything crossed for Term Four being back on site for the whole ten weeks!

R U OK?
Healesville Primary School and Healesville High School are partnering up to take part in RU OK? Day 2020. We have developed some safe, fun ideas to brighten our community, encourage exercise and promote some meaningful conversations between family and friends about mental health and looking out for our mates. We would love to see as many families as possible get involved in the activity so we can help to spread the message through our community.
Go to https://www.ruok.org.au/ to find out more about the initiative and keep an eye on our school Facebook page and Dojo for updates and activities.
A conversation could change a life | R U OK?
