Dusting and Garnishing



Plate dusting is an attractive method for decorating dessert plates.

You can use powdered sugar, cocoa powder or both before placing the dessert on the plate.

You could use sugar on a dark plate and coco powder on a light plate.

Dusting is use mostly in baked goods/deserts.


Garnishing plates can be done using fresh herbs and adds color, texture & flow to a plate. The herb or spice should always complement the foods and be consistent with their seasoning.

You can use mint,rosemary etc.

You can garnish the plates rim by using oil and place herbs on the oil.
