Ways To Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Some ways we can recycle is to throw away paper, plastic and aluminum.

Some ways we can reuse is to throw water bottles into the recycling bin.

Lastly you could reduce by using a plastic container instead of a paper bag.

History of Earth Day

Earth day was first celebrated in 1970. Gaylord Nelson thought to himself that we needed a day every year to help Earths environment. Now we know that day as Earth Day. Earth day is celebrated on April 22. Did you know on April 22 1970 Nelson got more than 20 million demonstrators and thousands of schools, and local communities to demonstrators.

  2. It takes approximately 1 million years for a glass bottle to break down in a landfill.
  3. By recycling 1 ton of paper, we save enough energy to heat a home for six months
  4. The average American uses about 100 gallons of water per day and more than 100,000 gallons of water per year.
