Dept. of Health Recommendations for Flu and Norovirus Prevention
Flu Prevention
- Get a flu shot
- Keep children home when they are sick - for at least 24 hours after fever is gone

Norovirus Prevention
- After episodes of vomiting or diarrhea, clean and disinfect surfaces
- Don't prepare food for others when you are sick or for three days after you recover.

Planning for Valentines Day - NO Food or Candy Gifts
Due to student and staff allergies in our school and adherence with the District Wellness Policies, no food or candy may be distributed to students.
They can certainly bring and share non-food items such as pencils and stickers.
Any food or candy items that are sent in will be sent home with parents.

Some changes to the future calendar are noteworthy:
- School will begin after Labor Day - Tuesday, September 4th, 2018
- There will be No School on the day before Thanksgiving
- There will be No Parent Teacher Conference Days
- There will be NO February Vacation Week - But there will be a long weekend
We need donations and volunteers...March 17th
In advance we are looking for donated items.

WE'RE RIDE COMMENDED !!!
Only 28 public schools in RI are Commended, and only 18 elementary schools.
Commended Schools are the schools that are the highest performing in the state. We have worked hard as a learning community to achieve Commended Status again and we are proud of this accomplishment!

Additionally, the Chariho District scored as the #3 district in the state.
