FIELD DAY!
Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to our end of the year field day event!!!!
Fifth grade will be participating from 8:15-10:15 and sixth grade will be participating from 12:10-2:10.
Feel free to come join the fun! We are taking volunteers to help run the games this year. If you are interested in helping, please complete the Google form below. The form will close once all of the spots are filled for each grade level. We will send out an email confirmation in a few weeks, so if you are able to access the form then you can plan on volunteering.
Volunteers will meet behind the 6th grade house on the large field. There are 20+ games this year and we will need one or two volunteers to help run each station. If you sign up, please plan on arriving around 15-20 minutes prior to the start of activities. It is also required that you complete the district background check form and submit to the main office before field day. The form for that can be found in the sign-up link.

Students will be eating lunch at school as usual. It is recommended that students bring sunscreen and a water bottle.
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Staying Connected Over the Summer
The end of the school year is an exciting time for students but many also feel anxious about the lack of schedule and structure during the lengthy summer ahead of them. While they see their peers every day at school, it may be difficult for working parents to coordinate activities with friends throughout the summer months. It’s important for students to continue to socialize and spend time with others in person. Below are a few ideas to keep your kids active and engaged socially.
Novi Community Education summer programs
Neighborhood activities (food truck night, parades, cookouts, pool parties, etc.)
Go to the park (maybe try a new one each week)
Volunteer work
Take a class (There are even interactive online classes such as drawing and cooking.)
Odd jobs (advertise with flyers or on social media)
Playdates
Museums, art galleries, Zoo

WARM WEATHER PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Spring has sprung…or is this summer? With the significantly warmer weather, students and staff are noticing that some of us may need a reminder or an initial conversation about wearing deodorant. Teachers are broaching the topic by discussing general hygiene with students when necessary. Parents and guardians, please help reinforce this at home as well. If you are uncertain how to approach the topic with your child, this is a helpful article.

EARLY RELEASE - Students leaving before the end of the day need to be picked up before 2 p.m. Please call the attendance line to let us us know you will be picking your student up before you get here so that we may have your child ready to go.
ADDITIONALLY - please make sure we can get a hold of you in case of emergency. Make sure your mailbox is not full or that it is set up and ready for message's if needed.
ABSENT HOMEWORK
Novi Meadows Parents:
When students are absent, teachers will do their best to fill them in on the work they miss. Teachers utilize a variety of tools to keep students up to date on work (Schoology, Google Classroom, on-line planners, etc.). It is not feasible to have absent students Zoom into classes that are happening at school. In addition, teachers are not able to privately Zoom with students who are absent to reteach the lessons. Teachers will provide the work that can be replicated to students upon their return. It is not always possible to recreate classroom discussion or activities
NON BUS DAYS FOR BUS RIDERS
