Oh, Good Grief!

All the "Good" without the "Grief"!

April 30, 2021

Dear Parents,

This is a special week--Staff Appreciation Week! Thank you Harrison Staff for ALL you do!

As you know, I will be retiring at the end of the school year. Mrs. Christy Brown will be your new principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Go to our website, www.hsd36.org, to meet Mrs. Brown.

Don't forget to order meals for your remote child(ren). The meal order form will close at 6:00pm on Sunday night.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness

Our students take federally-required assessments every spring. These assessments help us understand how our students are growing academically, compared to their peers across the state. The state uses this information to provide more support and resources to the schools in the greatest need.

Our students should feel confident showing what they know and can do on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR).

Students in grades 3 through 8 will take the IAR the week of May 3. We will have the results back from the test in the fall of 2021.

As always, we encourage our students to do their best every day. Please help them to;

  • get a good night's sleep
  • eat a healthy breakfast
  • attend school everyday

If you have any questions about the IAR, please reach out to your child's teacher or Mrs. Huff.

Field Day!

Field Day is Friday, May 28. T-shirt order forms are due on Wednesday, May 5. Everyone must pay $8 for the Field Day t-shirt. Lunch will be provided by the PTO.

If you would like to make a donation to cover a t-shirt for other students, you may send your donation to the front office or drop it in the box outside of the Front Office.

Due to COVID Restrictions and a shortened Field Day schedule, only in-person students will participate in Field Day.

Please contact Mrs. Huff, if you have any questions.
