4/6: Senior Parent Coffee - VIRTUAL at 8:30 AM - Topic is "Your student is headed to college. Now what?" This event is geared towards first time parents of college freshmen. This event will be recorded. Here is the link to join.

4/7 & 4/8: With the college fair the night of 4/7 (see details below) we are excited to have several admission reps visit from colleges we do not normally see in the fall. This is a great opportunity for juniors. You must sign up for each one on Naviance.
University of California-Irvine, - if you plan to apply to any UC university, you should plan to attend this rep visit. Along with talking about UCI he will review the UC application process which is different than those using the Common App. Sophomores, this is also a good to hear what classes you need to take.
University College Dublin - Ireland's largest university, public research
Drexel University - located in Philadelphia, PA. Offers a medical Early Assurance program.
Marshall University - large public research university in Huntington, WV.
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences - located in Boston, MA
University of East Anglia - has programs from "space to seabeds" learn not just about this university but how to apply to UK schools in general
Purdue University - large public land grant university in West Lafayette, IN( a top 20 Comp Sci and engineering college).

Academy Day 2022
Attendees will have the opportunity to join breakout sessions with representatives from the United States service academies for presentations and an interactive question and answer period.

The Office of Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District would like to invite all high school students that have interest in attending any of the five United States Service Academies, or have an interest in a future in the US military, to participate in the 2022 VA-10 Virtual Academy Day, to be held on Saturday April 30th, from 10:00am-12:00pm. The event will be held live on the Congresswoman’s Official Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/CongresswomanWexton.Attached you will find the flyer for the 2021 Academy Day. Senior FYI
We are planning to distribute caps and gowns to students on April 25th and 26th during lunch breaks. To ensure your student is able to get their packet please complete the Senior Fees payment at the Payment Portal. Link is here
The $80 fees pay for the cap and gown, senior tee shirt -that has already been distributed, meals at final graduation practices and other related graduation expenses. If you are experiencing financial hardship or need to discuss alternative payment methods please contact Nevein.zalenski@lcps.org or liz.grainger@lcps.org

Important PTSO News!
RAMADAN MUBARAK!
- The PTSO wishes those individuals and families observing Ramadan a beautiful time of reflection, faith, self-fulfillment, and the chance to spend time with their loved ones! Ramadan Mubarak or Blessed Ramadan!
- Ramadan is a period of fasting and spiritual growth and is one of the five “pillars of Islam.” The others being the declaration of faith, daily prayer, alms-giving, and the pilgrimage to Mecca.
- Muslims who are able, will fast from dawn to sunset (no eating or drinking) over the course of the month and attempt to read the Quran in its entirety as it was believed that the Quran was first revealed during this month. For those unable to fast, they can donate to those in need.
- Ramadan is a month of increased spirituality, building faith and connecting to God, or Allah in Arabic, as well as being a joyous time with family celebrating morning meals together, called suhoor, before the morning prayer as well as often festive evening meals following sunset, called iftar.
