From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents,
As many of you already know through communication by the district office, Dana Nasiakos has recently been named principal of McKenzie Elementary School. We certainly wish her success in her new role for next year.
Of course, we now have an opening for a new assistant principal. We have been interviewing both internal and external candidates for the past few weeks. I'm excited to announce that Anthony Haduch has been chosen to be the new assistant principal for Central and McKenzie elementary schools for the 2019-20 school year. Anthony is currently teaching 3rd grade here at Central. Before coming to District 39, he taught 4th grade at the Estrella Vista STEM Academy in Avondale, Arizona. He received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Michigan University and his master’s degree in educational leadership from Arizona State University. Anthony currently holds educational endorsements in early childhood, special education, and English as a second language. By the end of the summer, he will also hold his gifted education certificate. Anthony has expressed his excitement to continue his work alongside of our wonderful Wilmette community, and we all welcome him to his new role!
Warmly,
- Becky

From the Nurse's Office
Call Central School "Attendance Line" For Absences: 847-512-6150
Please call the Attendance Line to report absences even if you let the classroom teacher know, because some teachers don't see the email/voicemail until later in the day. Teachers assume you are calling the office. It's important that the school nurse is directly aware of any absences otherwise, your son/daughter may be considered "missing." The school nurse keeps track of all school absences in the building. For safety reasons, we want to make sure all of our students are accounted for and safe.
