Teacher Induction Program - RBV Celebrates!

All new teachers entering the profession continue to receive professional development for their first two years. In addition, VUSD offers a two-year program called Induction. The San Diego County of Education sponsors this program. Below, in the images, you will find Year 1 and Year 2 images of teachers at RBV! Kudos to them for continuing their professional journey in this powerful work.

Summer School

This summer we will offer two separate sessions that will be approximately three weeks each. Students must sign up to ensure they have a slot secured for one or both sessions. Students must sign up using their school Google account -- parents cannot register with their personal email accounts.

Students will have the opportunity to take up to two Edgenuity classes each session to make up credits. The sessions will run consecutively from June 12 through July 21. Each day will be from 8:30am to 12:30pm with a nutrition break. Students can miss ONLY TWO DAYS PER SESSION or a TOTAL of 8 hours. Summer school is a privilege. Student misbehavior will not be tolerated. Students will be dropped from summer school if they have missed more than two days or over 8 hours of instruction. Students will also be dropped if they do not maintain appropriate behavior.

Please note that the summer school times have been adjusted to be consistent with our new start times.

  • Session 1: June 12 - June 30 (8:30am-12:30pm) There is no class on June 19, Juneteenth.
  • Session 2: July 3 - July 21 (8:30am-12:30pm) There is no class on July 4, Independence Day.

Staff vs. Senior Basketball Game

Big picture
On Tuesday the RBV basketball programs hosted the 20th annual staff vs. student game. Staff walked away w/an impressive 58-48 win, advancing their all-time record to 9-11. Thank you to all staff, seniors, & fans who took part! See you next year.

Chromebook Protection Plan Information

The Mobile Device Cost Protection Plan (MDCPP) cost of $20 will remain in place for the 2023-2024 school year. Families that choose to keep the same device for multiple school years will need to purchase the optional MDCPP on an annual basis.

The current 2022-2023 Device Cost Protection Plan ends on June 30, 2023. Families that plan to use their device during the Summer will need to pay for the 2023-2024 coverage prior to leaving for the Summer.

We developed an electronic form that combines the Acceptable Use Agreement and options for payment in one location, with an electronic signature. This will streamline the process for families paying with credit cards. The form will be presented during Re-Registration/Data Confirmation on July 25th, but you can also post the link on your websites.

Additional information on the claims process and FAQ's can be found on our website.
