Relay for Life
We will be sponsoring the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Fundraiser again this year! We will be selling, with the help of Trek leaders, "footprints" for $1.00 each the week of April 30 - May 4. "Footprints" will be sold in the lobby all week and students can take their footprints back to class to decorate, and then bring them to the Cafe' where they will be placed in the purple "Footprint" bucket. We will be displaying the "footprints" throughout the school later that week.
Thank you all for your support in advance!
Milestones Celebration
Dear Brookwood Parents,
We need your help! Our students have worked so hard to prepare for and take the Milestones. We plan to reward them with some fun in the gym. We'll have bounce houses and ice cream for each class.
To make this event a success, we need volunteers to supervise the bounce houses to ensure the safety of our children. Please spend an hour or two of your time helping us! You can volunteer to help out during any time posted, but I've listed the times teachers signed up for if you'd like to try and volunteer when your child's class is jumping.
The link to the sign-up is listed below.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Heather Sonmez
Room parents have emailed a star template (see example above) that can be cut out for Monday's note to the teacher. Feel free to decorate the star and make it your own. The stars will be hung on your teacher's door.
The PTO is Still Looking for New Board Members!
If you are interested in being on the PTO Board next year, we are still looking for new members. We are looking for many positions, including president, events, treasurer and secretary. We are also looking for anyone interested in running any of our fun events. Please contact Carrie Williams at presidentwilliams@brookwoodpto.com.
Student Placement Survey for 2018-2019 School Year
In the spring, we naturally think of new beginnings. As educators, springtime signifies the beginning of our planning for the next school year.
As parents, this time of year prompts us to think of our children moving to a new grade level and class placement. Be assured that a great deal of thought and effort will go into the process of forming new classes for next year, just as it has in previous years. Each student will be placed into an instructional group for next year with input from a variety of sources. Input will be solicited from the current classroom teachers, counselors and other staff members who may have pertinent information. Classes will be formed based on factors including a match of student and teacher, the blend of students within a room, and the balance of the classes academically, socially, culturally and by gender.
While the process we use is comprehensive, if you as a parent would like to give further input regarding your child’s needs, you are welcome to do so. However, specific individual teacher requests will not be accepted. If you have information you would like to share, please be sure to make your requests based on educational factors unique to your child’s needs and these will be considered as we make our final decisions.
Reasons for your requests might include:
- Traits and characteristics of your child that most affect his/her learning
- Traits and characteristics of a teacher that will facilitate your child’s learning
- The type of educational setting you feel will best meet your child’s needs
So that we can organize the information and use it for planning purposes, please click the appropriate link below to submit the information to us. Again, please refrain from naming specific teachers as these requests will not be accepted. Please submit this information by May 11, 2018.

The money earned from these sales will help support many programs and activities for the next school year. Orders are only being accepted online this year and our school number is 24932.
