Drug Addiction

His first drug experience was with marijuana in 1980, at age 13. He used it a lot during adulthood. He had a period of consuming "notable" amounts of LSD. He was also prone to alcoholism and solvent abuse. His cousin Beverly, a nurse, claimed he was diagnosed with attention-hyperactivity disorder as a child, and bipolar disorder as an adult. She also brought attention to the history of suicide, mental illness and alcoholism in the Cobain family, noting two of her uncles who had committed suicide with guns.

His first experience with heroin happened sometime in 1986 but developed into an addiction in 1990. He first attempted rehab in 1992, not long after he discovered that he would be a father. Immediately after leaving rehab, Nirvana went on their Australian tour. He became pale and gaunt by suffering from with drawl. Not long after returning home, his addiction resumed.

During high school, he rarely found anyone he could play music with. While hanging out at the Melvins' practice room, he met Novoselic, another fan of punk rock. Novoselic's mother owned a hair salon, and they would sometimes practice in the upstairs room of the salon. A few years later, he tried to convince Novoselic to form a band with him by giving him a copy of a home demo recorded by his earlier band, Fecal Matter. After months of asking, Novoselic finally agreed to join him, forming Nirvana but they missed one thing, a drummer.

Kurt was disenchanted because they couldn't get large enough crowds. During their first few years playing together, Novoselic and Kurt had a long list of drummers. Eventually, the band settled on Chad Channing. Nirvana recorded the album Bleach, with him. Kurt, however, did not like Channing's drumming style, leading the band to find a new drummer, and they eventually settled on Grohl. With Grohl, the band found their greatest success with him on their 1991 album, Nevermind.

Nirvana was one of the greatest bands EVER (in my opinion)! They have fans throughout the globe, and will for many more years. Kurt Cobain had a rough life, but that shaped him to an amazing musician. He committed suicide ( supposedly ) which saddened many people, including his wife and daughter. Of course, that didn't stop his fame. He will remain famous for a very long time because of what music he produced. Many teenagers, kids, and adults still love Nirvana.
