ACPS Has Partnered with DonorsChoose
Dear ACPS Community Members:
What I most love about working with my colleagues in our school division is visiting our schools each week and being able to see their commitment to providing students with authentic, challenging and relevant learning experiences. Each day, our educators are supporting their students with the lessons, materials and innovative ideas they need to thrive in our fast-paced modern society.
It our responsibility to provide teachers with the resources they need to enthusiastically engage learners in the classroom or by distance learning. To broaden the base of support for our educators, we have officially partnered with DonorsChoose, making it possible to others in our school community to contribute to this important work.
Through this partnership, our staff will be able to post funding requests for classroom resources. Community members will be able to donate funds that will be matched by corporate sponsors to bring to life, exciting and challenging classroom projects for students.
Some projects funded through DonorsChoose in the past are:
• A classroom library of diverse books that support our Reframing the Narrative curriculum
• Supplies to distribute to families during elementary family nights
• Funding for decodable books that align with our UFLI phonics program
If you would like to learn more, visit the ACPS DonorsChoose webpage.
Sincerely,
Dr. Matthew S. Haas, Superintendent
