6th Graders Learn the Ins and Outs of Public Speaking 🎙
Speaking in front of a group of people is most people’s biggest fear in life. Getting over that fear and being able to communicate information takes lots of time and practice. The 6th graders at Summit recently had to do just that, but they did it in a less threatening way by writing, researching, and recording their presentations in a TED talk format.
The Junior High Artist of the Week is Wyatt Brammer
The Junior High Artist of the Week is Wyatt Brammer! The Artists of the Week is sponsored by Rocco's Pizza of Nixa .
"Wyatt is always up for a challenge. I can always count on him to be a great playing example when I need a student volunteer. Wyatt also takes private lessons which allows him to learn and perform more challenging music than he might encounter in the 7th-grade band." - Mary Duerkop, assistant band director
"I joined the band because I love music. Band is another way for me to enjoy music and spend time with my friends." - Wyatt Brammer

Changing Cell Companies or Prepaid Phones
Parents/Guardians,
If you change cell phone companies or your prepaid minutes phone number is deactivated (even for a short period of time), this could flag your number as bad in our systems and you will not receive text alerts or emergency phone calls. If either of these situations happen, please contact quicknews@nixaschools.net to make sure your phone number is still active. Also, remember to look for the text alert on the 10th of each month at 10 a.m. as a way to see if your number is still active in our system (something could still happen, but it's a good way to have a monthly check).
