Welcome to your subject association!

The Association for Language Learning is the major subject association for teachers of languages in the UK, run by teachers for teachers. We exist to support and represent language teachers - of all languages, all levels, all sectors.

For those who work in Initial Teacher Education and Training, we have an active email forum and special interest group, which runs training and networking events and puts on workshops at our national conference, Language World.

Members also receive fantastic benefits such as:

  • regular updates, ideas and information from our weekly ALLnet e-bulletin, termly Languages Today magazine and our range of journals,
  • local and national training courses and events (with discounted delegate rates!) allowing you to network with other practitioners around the country.

Click to find out more about what we can offer you, and join us now!

So what is Language World?

Language World is our 2-day annual conference dedicated to language learning and teaching. We offer a packed programme of enthusiastic and inspirational speakers giving you the latest in language learning resources and updates on languages education - including sessions on initial teacher education.
