Monday Memo
December 3, 2018
Great things!
It was a great three days this past week! The kids were so happy to be back at school with their friends and teachers! Thank you for welcoming them back with smiles, hugs, and love! I know they missed you all!
EHS was able to get outside and explore the snow! They crunched it, threw it, squished it, and even brought a snowball back inside! What a neat opportunity for them!
So many new friends started school with us! We are so glad to welcome all of these new friends to our school family.
Check out our beautiful Art in the Office for December... brought to you by....Kristin's class.
Challenge: CD staff challenged staff last week to increase opportunities for connection by implementing two rituals in the classroom. This may have included greeting rituals, wish well rituals, or absent child/student rituals. Were you able to do this? Did you take a look at your schedule or your classroom/group activities to see if you are doing at least 2 rituals a day? If you didn't get to it last week-let's give it a shot this week! Be intentional.
You can still purchase jeans coupons to benefit United Way until the end of the day Monday the 3rd. See Marian if you are interested.

Nuts-n-Bolts:
* The announcements for the week are loaded into the shared file. (Kristin p.m. friends)
*On Dec 13-the day of Winter Fest-feel free to wear jeans and a High Grove shirt
*Reminder: December faculty meeting is combined with our PD/PLC afternoon this month.
*Families for Christmas assistance are available in the small conference room if you are interested in helping.
*There is a sign up sheet on my window for CD jobs for our December PD/PLC. Please stop by and sign up for a job that sounds fun to you!
*The GAP will be utilizing our large gym for their Christmas Store again this year. It will not be available for use between Dec 5 and 11th.
*If you see a visitor in the building without a visitor sticker/tag- please stop them and ask them if you can help them. We have had several incidents of visitors in the building where they continued down the halls without any of our staff stopping them. It is everyone's responsibility to help out with this. Also, if a visitor has visited your classroom or office-please escort them back to the front office when they leave. Do not let them walk through the hallways by themselves. I appreciate your attention to this safety matter.
*If you are going to be absent or in a meeting and will be unable to do your arrival/dismissal duty--it is your responsibility to find coverage. It helps our procedures run smoothly and safely when you have found someone to help out or made sure the rest of the staff has it handled if you cannot be there.
* Websites were due to be updated by end of day Nov 30 (next due date Dec 14)
* December library book shelving duty: Bonnie
