Hello Cougar Families,

Spring Break has arrived, and we wish everyone a restful time off! Please be sure to carve out time to review this newsletter. Also, any parents who submitted a response for "In-Person Learning," know our counselors have sent you an email on Thursday, April 1st with guidelines for the Spring Reopening. For parents with students who will be on "Remote Learning," then their child will continue with the usual distance learning experience from home.     Hello Cougars,

    Spring Break has arrived, and our school reminders are listed below for the week you return to online learning during the week of April 12th. Students, notice there will be NO tutorial times the week of April 12th due to our staff's reopening planning time. Also, there are two (2) days below named "Asynchronous Learning" which means students will complete the online work assigned by each of their teachers (i.e., Google Classroom). On April 14th and April 15th, students will NOT be receiving any LIVE virtual classroom lessons (i.e., Zoom).

    Binder Reminder: Contest WINNER!

    Congratulations to our current 6th grader, Candy Lin Lu, on the impressive artwork she submitted to our school! She has been selected as the winner in our annual Binder Reminder "Cover Contest" for her colorful artwork.

    Registration began on March 15th! Our Summer School 2021 courses will be taught by several of our Chaparral teachers. Here is the link to Dedicated-2-Learning for our summer school options with complete course descriptions.

    (Sign up promptly, as courses are now generating a WAITING LIST. Anyone who is now on a waitlist will be contacted by a D2L staff member prior to Summer School.)

    Be sure to review the new message your DBHS Grade Level Counselors (GLC), Mrs. Duenas, and Mr. Patterson posted for 8th graders on Google Classroom this week. Here is a brief point from their notification:

    • If you did not get an appointment before March 26th, please contact our Guidance Secretary, Jolina McCurry at Failure to complete these steps will result in your appointment being on a different date than your sibling.

Our recent CAPA meeting held on April 1, was a wonderful opportunity to connect with families and provide a Q/A forum for our Spring Reopening plans.
