Valentine's Day and Random Acts of Kindess
Friday was a day filled with pajamas, treats, a movie, valentines, friendship, and laughter! We have been focusing on random acts of kindness and the overall message of giving to others. Everyone has done their part in making our world a better place by showing how simple gestures can go a long way in making someone else's day a little brighter. After a recent district wide staff development message "Playing Nice in the Sandbox" inspired me, I took the lesson a step further and included our class in a building wide random act of kindness.

Natural Disaster News Forecast Videos
Last week a highlight of conferences was sharing our Natural Disaster videos and dioramas. If you were unable to attend conferences and view your child's video I would be happy to share a link to their video with you. Please send me an email with this request and I will be happy to share it with you or you can view the video on their iPad if they were the one to save it on their iPad.
February
February always means two things at Wagner, celebrating Read Across America and Pennies for Patients. We are nearing our final days of collecting for Pennies for Patients and until last week we had been neck in neck for first place with Mr. Schmidtbauer's classroom. The race is on to collect for this great cause and to make our school wide goal of $2,015.
Each year we have a different theme for Read Across America. This year we are "Reading Across the Trail" and focusing on the Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska. Our classroom will be learning much more about the Iditarod as we focus our studies on this famous race when it begins in early March. Watch for much more information to come on this fascinating event!
