2017 Nutmeg Book Awards
The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children in grades 2-12 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite book of the year from a list of 10 nominated titles. Every year, school library media specialists, public librarians, reading teachers, and students select nominees in four divisions: Elementary (grades 2-4), Intermediate (grades 4-6), Teen (grades 7-8) and High School (grades 9-12).
Nominees are announced in May and these titles are read by children during the following year until voting takes place in April. The winner for each of the 4 categories is announced on May 15th. The Wamogo LMC always has one copy of each of the Teen and High School nominees.
There's still time to read the 2017 nominees and vote in April! We have our favorites already; who do YOU think will win?
