Hartman Elementary

Hartman Happenings

Construction at Hartman will begin on March 25th. While this will be an inconvenience in the upcoming months, it will ultimately be a great change for our Cool Cats! We ask for your patience and understanding as it will be a challenge for all of us and will temporarily altar procedures at Hartman.

Refer to the new traffic plan below for morning drop off and afternoon pick up procedures. Please expect extended delays. Parking will be limited and we expect it to be a lengthy process if you choose to park and walk up to the door to pick up your child. We appreciate your understanding and patience during construction.

Counselor's Corner

Parenting is hard. Really hard. But, shouldn't it be fun too? As parents, we sometimes focus on making sure our children have their homework completed, chores done, manners utilized, showers taken, books read, teeth brushed, and on and on and on. That is great parenting and I'm thankful you do all those things. I've learned over the past few years that I can get quite grumpy while making sure my children complete these tasks. Then my children become quite grumpy. I started to notice that my children tended to take on my mood. When I'm happy and have a sense of humor, they will generally follow my lead.

There are researched benefits for children who have a sense of humor according to kidshealth.org. Children who have a well developed sense of humor:

1. are happier and more optimistic

2. are healthier

3. are better liked by their peers

4. can handle life's diversities better and have higher self esteem

5. have more fun!

Here's wishing you lots of good laughs with your children!

Hartman Opportunity

Parents often want to do something to help at Hartman. Here's your chance! We have many fun spring events and could use your help at one or all of them. We need volunteers for movie night, adventure run, track meet and field day. If you are interested in helping please email Coach Haskins at angela.haskins@wylieisd.net.

We have an especially fun event planned for April 6th. A company will set up challenging stations for our students, but we need volunteers to assist at each station. If you would like to help at the SAGE event on the Wylie ISD Day of Hope please sign up here:

Thank you in advance for helping to make this spring a special time for our students!
