Biddeford Primary School Newsletter
January 26, 2022
Dear Families,
Students have started NWEA testing; completing math last week and reading this week. This is one data point we use to help track student academic progress. We try to make this stress-free and encourage students to do their best. Students feel most successful when they have had a good night’s sleep.
In addition to bedtime routines, reading and doing other activities together can build social skills, academic skills, and confidence. Mrs.Schauber and Mrs. Goulet tailor their lessons to help support students’ social, emotional, and academic skills. Make sure to check in with your student and ask what they are learning about in Healthy Minds or Guidance!
Starting in February, students can take part in the Winter Reading Challenge with Pizza By Alex! This information will also be sent home with your child. I would like to send a huge thank you to Pizza by Alex for supporting our little readers!
Warmly,
Margaret Pitts

Nurse's Update
Every home in the US is now eligible to receive four free at-home COVID-19 test kits. Simply go to www.covidtests.gov and fill in your household information. Tests will ship to your home in approximately 7-12 days. In addition, at the end of this week, every American is eligible to receive three free N95 masks per person (see PPH article here). The masks will be delivered to pharmacies and community health centers that partnered with the federal government to provide vaccinations and are available for distribution. At this time, there is no information on N-95 masks for children, and we ask parents to please send their child(ren) with additional masks each day.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO REPORT POSITIVE RESULTS via the Google Forms below or call the school directly.
Going forward, an email will be sent informing parents of positive cases and we will continue to make personal phone calls if your child tests positive due to pooled testing. We ask all families to pay close attention to their emails for the possibility of notifications related to their child(ren) and follow the instructions within the email for modified quarantine, symptom monitoring, and testing. If you are not receiving emails from the school, please check your spam folder and ensure your information is up-to-date in the parent portal.
