Tustumena Elementary Newsletter
November 24, 2015
Happy Thanksgiving
Thank you so much for being part of our Tustumena Family. I hope you all have a safe and joyous time with you family this holiday.
We had a great time with the Bingo for Turkeys last Friday night, even though the road were a little tricky. Lots of people and lots of birds flying out the door.
Our School Enrichment Model will begin next week. Your children should be coming home with lots of stories about their enrichment clusters. Be sure to ask.
I have pasted a link for school closure and delays to this newsletter. If you have any questions on questionable days, just click that link.
Best Wishes.
Doug Hayman
Improvements being made = Construction Zone
If you are at school over the next month or so, you will see a couple of projects underway. First we have painters preparing the hallways for a fresh coat of paint. Next we will have folks laying new carpet in the hall between the office and the first grade rooms.
School will go on as normal. The paint the will be using is non-toxic water-based paint. By January, we should have a fresh look down the hallways and in a couple of rooms too.
Just giving you the 411.

Please be engaged
There is a lot of talk at every level, from local to state, about budget issues involving education. Please stay engaged in the conversations, especially with our local leaders and state legislators. We all know that tightening the belts is just part of the ebb and flow of our economy, but let us be thoughtful and informed about our priorities.
Thank you.
