GMAS reflection
If we are well prepared, then GMAS will be an opportunity for our kids to shine and show what they can do. I ask that we have our kids:
1. continue to read daily at home,
2. practice on the Tenmarks math and Readworks websites
3. ask questions and for help in class when needed.
4. work hard and continue to be kind.
Sustained effort over time will help the kids grow and be well prepared. Let's be ready for GMAS week!

What we are learning this week
Lyndon B. Johnson biography study
We'll dig into LBJ's biography and learn about how the challenges of his early years helped shape and prepare him for his time as President. Introducing the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964, Johnson led the nation forward into a new era.
Fairy tales and narrative writing
At last! The kids will be working in the narrative medium. We'll be studying and crafting stories and working out plots as the kids embark on a new writing unit. How exciting!
Elapsed Time (and measurement)
These will be our next two units at school. The kids will be working with the concept of elapsed time which is not an easy concept. We'll consider and practice working with the idea of measuring time, distance, and weight.
