Colt Round Up

"Life is always now." - Tennessee Williams
With Appreciation:
- Big thanks to our whole team for a pretty seamless Lock Down drill last week. Everyone did their part and as a result, we were able to account for all of our students and ensure our campus was secure within 7 minutes. We learned a lot from the drill and we'll be better prepared for the next one!
- Thank you to all of our PLCs for their feedback on the "spend a buck" activity. It was really interesting to see the different priorities. I've sent our feedback to the district and have posted a copy of what I sent in the staff room in case you'd like to see it.
- Kudos to Holly & Darren for their work with math tutoring. Holly is working with the district's tutoring program coordinator to get another tutoring session going for 1st grade. I've made it clear to the district that we'd love to offer tutoring or ISP for every grade in math. If there is a staff member who would want to organize and provide tutoring for 3rd graders, let me know - I can always see what I can do to make it happen if I have a staff member willing to lead it!
Quick Reminders
- We'll be moving Lunch with Great Colts to Wednesday for this week
- Please update your daily step totals for the 16,17,and 18 (Wed-Fri) on the tracking sheet in the breakroom by 2pm this Tuesday. After school I will take that sheet home and replace it with this upcoming week's tracking sheet. The staff are smashing their daily steps goal!!! Thanks to Krystal for coordinating this effort!
- StarStruck is underway! We'll be taking order forms/$ for tickets - please send anything you collect to Michelle in the office. Also, the quick rehearsal times for the assembly/show days has been established. Check out this doc and find your time at the bottom of the page for your time slot. If it interferes with recess, we'll find a way to make it work - just let me know.

iReady data Checkin
For the week of 1/14-1/20, our average time on task for the Reading online instruction was 27 minutes. Kudos to Mrs. Botonis, Mrs. Risucci, Mrs. Wetzstein, Mr. Stelma, Ms. Cassidy, Ms. Shye & Mrs. Shelton's classes - all of which had an average usage of 30+ min in ELA last week! Our passage rate on online instruction was 71%!
For the online instruction in math, we rocked it - our average time on task was 30 min across our site. Kudos to Mr. Stelma, Mrs. Wetzstein, Mrs. Wright, Ms. Shye, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Risucci, Mrs. Botonis, Mrs. WIlliams, Ms. Cassidy, Mrs. Cook, and Mrs. Whiteside's classes for averaging 30+ minutes of Math last week! So many more staff were within a few minutes of the 30 minute goal. Even better - our average pass rate was 87% on online instruction lessons!
As a reminder, in the staff room, you'll find two posters(one for Math, one for Reading) with a summary of our Diagnostic 1 v. Diagnostic 2 data.
The data is presented in triangle form and it has it grouped by each teacher into Red, Yellow & Green for Diagnostic 1 v. 2. It's really exciting to see how our students are growing thanks to your teaching and these new tools we have available for intervention as well as monitoring.
