imperial units where used about 30 years ago but some are still used today.

imperial units are used for weight , length and volume e.g. pounds ,ounces ,tonne ,pints ,gallon ,yards ,feet ,inches . they are a few selectoins of imperial units.The imperial units is a collection of English units which have been used by people from fishermen to bankmen.

weight: 1 pound = 16 ounces - 1 stone = 14 pounds - 1 ton = 160 stones (or 2240 pounds) - Length: 1 foot = 12 inches - 1 yard = 3 feet - 1 mile = 1760 yards
