Meet the Monomoy Dart Club started by Ms. Robinson (a.k.a. Ms. Kerri)
Needing more choices for Jawsome activities, Ms. Kerri started a Dart Club. With a couple sets of darts and one board. More kids were interested in playing, but supplies were limited. As a member of the Cape Cod Dart League, Ms. Kerri asked them for help. The board already donated the use of one of their portable boards, but were very generous in donating 2 new boards and a ton of dart sets. Ms. Kerri built another portable board so now the club is up and running and still gets some curious students peeking in to see what it is all about. The club can only have 12 students at a time during each Jawesome, to allow fair practice time for each player. Students have learned many aspects of darts including playing games such as Cricket, 601, 501 and 301. They have also learned how to score, and have realized there is a lot of math involved in darts!
The Cape Cod Dart League is also very excited with our Junior dart team. So much that they are in the works to set up a Junior Tournament! All interested students are invited to enter, you do not need to be a member of the dart club. Other exciting news regarding the Dart club is that we have just learned that Pizza Shark owner Joshua Koopman is hosting a premier of a movie he and friends made at the Chatham Orpheum Theatre on Thursday March 23rd at 7:30. There will be a 50/50 raffle before the start of the movie in the lobby of the Chatham Orpheum. All proceeds will be going to the dart league which will help support the dart club at the Monomoy Regional High School as well as the Child and Family Services of Cape Cod.
