Frontloading/PreTeaching
On Friday, we discussed how Frontloading\Preteaching can benefit our students. When our students who need it most have the experience and advantage of initial background knowledge, or they are being taught the skills for the '2nd Time' during whole group instruction, the head-start they are receiving may be the key to meet their critical needs which allows them to fully engage in the lesson, participate at higher levels, and understand at the rigor we are asking them to.
When students increase their engagement, their negative behavior issues decrease, the overall culture of the class shifts forwards towards learning, and all students are able to rise in their achievement. As we wind down this 6 weeks, after students show their best during Common Assessment, lets dive into Frontloading and end this 2017 year with amazing results. We got this!
We have 4 more Instructional Days before our Common Assessment Week. Lets plan ahead, be engaging, and use them wisely!
Onward!
And .... we have a celebrity at our campus!! Check out who was featured in the Dallas ISD Hub!!

8th Week in Review
Last week was a very packed week!!
We had people attend SBDM Training at Obadiah Knight on Tuesday.
Wednesday we enjoyed our 3rd Graders Perform for the PTA!! They danced to two songs including the Monster Mash. Our 3rd Grade Teachers Adams and Brown reinforced our campus expectations with our parents.
And all teachers did an Outstanding job being engaged and committed to our training on Friday. I appreciate the feedback that was given so we can intentionally design PD that will move students forward! Thank you Lopez for presenting RTI and Dena for presenting on DOL/Exit Tickets.
After the 2nd Common Assessment is completed, we are looking forward to updating the Data Wall in our Main Hallway to show the excellent work and acceleration our kids are making. They depend on us.
