Read Across America Week- Dr Suess' Birthday!
March started off with a bang as we celebrated Read Across America Week and Dr. Suess' birthday. Our amazing PTO did a lot of decorating around the school and each team decorated their hallway tied to a Dr. Seuss book! The winning hallway was the Kindergarten wing which focused around the Sneetches in the book, The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. It was so much fun! We focused on a different book each day.
Thursday: "You'r never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child." GHS sent over some amazing buddy readers!
Friday: "Think and wonder, wonder and think." We had a free hat day to wear our favorite thinking hat!
Monday: we wore red, blue and green - "I can read in red, I can read in blue, I can read in pickle color too!"
Tuesday: "Why fit in, when you were born to stand out?" Read like crazy--we wore our craziest socks!
Wednesday: "Kid, you'll move mountains." Leadership Day --We dressed for Success!Thursday: "You'r never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child." GHS sent over some amazing buddy readers!

We made several new connections with friends across the US and shared books with them. We connected with a class in CT, NJ, MA and Hawaii! Our goal this year is to connect with all 50 states and we are well on our way with 24 connections so far.
