Dear Families,
As usual, it was another amazing week at Poco. Our rehearsals for our middle school play, High School Musical, are going incredibly well, but WOW is there a lot of action after school -- the school is hoppin’ all the way to the 5:15 bus! This afternoon, we also welcomed our first grade parents to the library for a great celebration of their animal research projects. We also had a number of family presentations about recent holidays which are always wonderful to share – My face was covered with the colors of Holi today to prove it!
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES UPDATE
You still haven’t missed anything about conferences, don’t worry! We're working out a couple issues with our online signup system for the spring parent-teacher conferences on FRIDAY, MARCH 24 (no school for students). It’s also important to note that we have several teachers who happen to be in Boston attending a national conference that day who are already rescheduling their conferences for other days.
As parents/guardians, you will now have the option of either an in-person conference or a virtual conference! It will be a logistical challenge, but we want to provide you the flexibility you need to participate. With that logistical mix, however, we must stay on schedule!
FOOD DRIVE
Feeding Westchester is predicting a sharp rise in families needing food support, and we want to be there for our Poco families. Our student government is partnering with our PTA for our spring food drive, which will run for the next three weeks. I know how food prices are rising everywhere (which is also part of the concern), so any little bit of help matters – thank you!

The PTA Bulb and Seed Sale is back! Beautify spring and order garden bulbs from our Pocantico Seed Sale! You can order for your home, as gifts, or for our school’s wish list!

Our yearbook is created by our 7th & 8th grade yearbook staff with input from our 8th graders. It is an amazing full-color memory of the school year and is available for only $35.00.

DON’T FORGET: COVID HOME TEST KITS STILL AVAILABLE
There is still plenty of general winter sickness around us, especially coming off of the holiday break. Please pay extra close attention to symptoms of flu or COVID, and If you’re in need of COVID home test kits, even if just to have in your closet, please reach out to Nurse Juliet and we can send home some boxes in your child’s backpack. We have plenty to share with you.
