From the nurse
With all the information out there regarding Covid-19 (Novel Corona Virus) there are certain things we need to remember.
- Covid-19 is transmitted by people to other people
- Anyone, regardless if they are YOUNG (children) or OLDER, can get Covid-19
- Covid-19 illness is more severe in the elderly and people who have underlying health conditions (based upon what is known now)
- Children likely will not have as severe a case of Covid-19 as older people, but remember, the virus is transmitted from person to person
- All of us should use the precautions as outlined by CDC to protect ourselves and others
Stay Healthy!

Baking = great STEM Learning!
After you've done all the measuring, then you can think about the chemistry of cooking. At what temperature does butter melt? Or water boil? You and your child can generate hundreds of questions and answers about math and science by the simple act of making cookies.
Then, once those cookies are made, there are all kinds of story problems! If everyone in the family gets an equal number of cookies, how many cookies does each person get? What about the ethical dimensions of cookie-making? Who should get the most? The person who cooks? Who cleans? Who buys the groceries? Or should everyone get an equal amount?
The Problem Solving Wheel works at home!
Mrs. Roggenkamp, our school counselor, was very busy reviewing the PVP Problem Solving Wheel to each class during their library time. She will continue reviewing with classes throughout the month of March! She also provided a mini lesson to instruct students on how to utilize this problem solving wheel.
The PBIS Team worked hard last year to create the problem solving wheel as a way for all of our students to learn problem solving skills and have a resource to support this skill. The team created a Kindergarten through 2nd Grade version and a 3rd and 4th Grade version while keeping the problem solving wheels consistent so this important school wide resource is available for all staff and students to use around our school.
You could try using the problem solving wheel with your child at home.
