First Week of School
Dear Young Parents,
The first week of school was great. Young students and staff were very excited to be back in the building learning and working together.
Students participated in the First Day of School Assembly where we celebrated our return to school, viewed first day of school pictures, and talked about the importance of showing respect to each other. We also had a bus assembly for our bus students to review behavioral expectations on the bus.
Over the next two weeks, students and their classmates will participate in class and team building activities in order to connect with each other and develop relationships with their peers and classroom teacher.
In addition, each classroom is creating their Social Emotional Learning Charter about how students want to feel and treat others in their classrooms. Please find below an SEL Charter from 1T.
We are looking forward to an awesome year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Morgan
Week of August 26 is Safety Week at Young
During Safety Week, we will teach lessons that will cover the mandatory drills for fire and tornado and also general school safety.
The following safety skills will be presented in age appropriate ways: listen to an adult, be alert, situational awareness, moving with a purpose, exit awareness and rally points.
These lessons are designed to cover the basic components of school safety without creating anxiety or worry in students.
We look forward to an engaging week with our students. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school safe.

If parents do bring forgotten items to school, parents are to place items in the grade level bins across from the office. The office will not interrupt instructional time to deliver forgotten items.
Please note, that chromebooks will not be accepted for drop-off at the forgotten student bin or the main office. It is the student’s responsibility to pick-up forgotten items in the front office.
Forgotten lunches and dropped off lunches will be placed in the lunch crate across from the school office. Lunchroom staff take lunches to the lunchroom prior to every lunch period.
