Calling All Volunteers!!
Volunteer Appreciation Day Monday, April 3rd 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Parkside Volunteers,
Please join us on Monday, April 3rd from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, as we say thank you to all the incredible volunteers who make our school great, and make a difference in the lives of our students each and every day.
Literacy/Reading
We completed and performed our I Am Poems and Monologues this week. Expect to see the grades for these in PowerSchool for 4th quarter. Next week, we will begin our poetry unit. Please continue to look for weekly literacy homework. We will be on Homework #3.
Math
In math we are working on Area and Perimeter. Students will be learning how to find the area and perimeter of irregular figures with missing lengths. It is important that students can recall their multiplication facts easily while finding area. Please make sure your student are practicing those math facts daily to keep them fresh in their minds.
M.A.P. Testing begins next week!!
Social Studies
Science
We have finished our unit on rocks and minerals! Students took an assessment that included the three kinds of rocks, rock cycle, weathering/erosion, Moh's hardness scale (its all about diamonds), and what we eat and use daily that are rocks and minerals.
Our next unit is about moon phases and what causes day and night.
