VIRTUAL HOME VISITS:
Please watch the video and read the info below to learn more about our virtual home visit program! We are excited to be able to spend time with our families again, even if it is virtual!
The purpose of the home visit program is to strengthen relationships between families and teachers. There are limits to what teachers can learn about each student during class time and home visits have been an effective way to bridge the gap between home life and school life. We are happy to continue this program virtual to make it a safe and fun experience for everyone.
PROCESS:
In order to schedule a virtual home visit, please complete the Google Form provided by your child's counselor. If you want to request a visit for multiple FSA students, please complete the form for each student. You will provide some dates and times that work best for your family. Each visit will last 30-60 minutes.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay happy.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kenan Sener
Principal

UNITY DAY; October 21! (Wear Orange!)
The Fulton Science Academy Counseling Team invites all staff and students to join in on Unity Day (Wednesday, October 21st) whether virtual or in person, to wear ORANGE and show that you are against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion !
"Make it ORANGE and make it end!
What are your true colors when it comes to showing that you believe that all youth should be safe from bullying? Come together in one giant ORANGE message of hope and support, WEAR AND SHARE ORANGE to color our nation, and even the world, visibly showing that our society believes that no child should ever experience bullying.
'ORANGE provides a powerful, visually compelling expression of solidarity,” said Paula Goldberg, Executive Director of PACER Center. “Whether it’s hundreds of individuals at a school wearing ORANGE, store owners offering ORANGE products, or a community changing a landmark to ORANGE, the vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, sending the supportive, universal message that bullying is never acceptable behavior.'” (https://www.pacer.org/bullying/nbpm/unity-day.asp)

Three FSA Seniors Among Selected for the College Board National African American Recognition Program
The College Board National Recognition Programs, " grant students academic honors that can be included on college applications. Colleges use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups who have excelled on their PSAT/NMSQT and in their classrooms." FSA SENIOR Kalissa Greene NAMED UNDER ARMOUR ALL AMERICAN FIRST TEAM!

Although nearly 1,000 players can be nominated for this award, the honor is given to only the 24 most distinguished athletes, and we couldn’t be more proud to have Kalissa Greene, with her incredible sportsmanship and athleticism, representing Fulton Science Academy! In addition to being selected for this distinction, Miss Greene was one of only eleven preselected nominees!
As a First Team Under Armour All American team member, Kalissa has been invited to showcase her exceptional skills at an exhibition match in Orlando, Florida, on January first.
Kalissa was an integral part of FSA’s varsity volleyball team, making her second appearance at the GISA State Volleyball Tournament this year. We are incredibly proud of Miss Greene’s accomplishments and look forward to watching her represent our school as she rings in the New Year with the nation’s best players on the first day of 2021!
In addition to this notable honor, Kalissa has received 25 Division I offers from universities around the country, a true testament to her athletic and personal integrity, excellence, and character. She has committed to Princeton University, where she will play volleyball while majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Journalism.
Congratulations, Kalissa! We are extraordinarily proud and honored to have you as an FSA Mustang!

ELEMENTARY FAMILY FUN FALL CHALLENGE
We’re challenging our families to get together and experience some family fall fun! As we leave the month of October and enter the month of November, we would like to provide our families with an opportunity to participate in an elementary-wide mini pumpkin decorating contest. We will pair this with our November virtual resources pick up.
On Friday, November 6th our on campus learners will bring home their family fall challenge & materials.
On Saturday, November 7th our virtual learners will visit campus during their designated time slot to drive through and pick up their November virtual learning resources and family fall challenge materials. We will also have a fall photo backdrop set up for families to take a photo together, if they would like. You will report to the carpool loop during your designated time slot, just like our previous resource pickups. This will be organized by last name again.
The competition will officially start following the last resource pick up slot! Your family has Saturday afternoon, evening and Sunday morning to work together and decorate your mini pumpkin! When you are finished, you will post a photo of your finished pumpkin to the FSA Facebook Page under the competition post. The pumpkin to receive the MOST LIKES on facebook by 4:30pm on Sunday, November 8th will be designated our WINNING pumpkin!
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded during our Sunday evening viewing of a fun Fall movie. Check out your Family Fall Fun bag for more details, a movie treat to enjoy, and your ticket for admission!

Trick or Treat for Unicef | Sponsored by the FSA Unicef Club

UNICEF is raining money for Trick or Treat for UNICEF!
2020’s Narrative and Rallying Cry
For generations, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF has been an inspiring campaign for children all over America, teaching children the value of caring for others. But it’s always been done the same way — by going door-to-door with a little orange box.
This year, a pandemic is threatening to steal the holiday from American children, and along with it, the chance to help vulnerable children around the world. We can’t let that happen.
During the month of October, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is going virtual with a personalized Virtual Collection Box online, toolkits to help ask for donations, and fun activities that unlock even more money. And for the first time, kids get to help decide how the money gets spent.
So don’t put away the costume just yet! Go online at https://www.unicefusa.org/trick-or-treat and help make this Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF the best one ever!
Where Your Donations Go
- $1 can provide safe water to a child for more than two months.
$7 can provide a cold child with a warm fleece blanket.
$15 can buy a box of five mosquito nets to protect kids from deadly malaria.
$58 can buy one box of therapeutic food(150 packets) to save a child from severe acute malnutrition.
$210 can buy a UNICEF School-in-a-Box to help keep 40 children safe and learning in the aftermath of emergencies.
NJHS Can, Coat, & Toiletry Drive | Begins in November
