Representing NVUSD Teachers, Counselors, and Nurses

April 9, 2021

Dear Teachers, Counselors and Nurses,

Here are the Talking Points from NVEA/NVUSD Council from April 6th.

There have been some questions about specific language in the COVID MOU's. Safety, legal parameters, and no longer doing simultaneous teaching are the current priorities. There are still some major data points that are needed before a draft of an MOU can be developed.

The RIF process is continuing. At this time there are 19 teachers still on the list for lay-off. The hearing date with an Administrative Law Judge has been set for April 22nd.

We had a very low turn out for our NEA-RA and State Council Rep election run through SimplyVoting. Below are the results. Write-ins for the NEA-RA representatives will be called by our election Chair, Corey Morton, and asked if they will take the position.

Looking forward to seeing you at one of our District wide NVEA meetings on IBPS and negotiating the CBA.

Stay Well,

Gayle Young
