Wellness Wednesdays

May is Mental Health Matters Month - Week 2
Dear students,
We are entering Week Two in Mental Health Matters Month. This week we will focus on "Express Your Well-being." Below you will find different ways to take care of yourself while at home: gardening, coloring, and deep breathing. There are also short meditation videos in both English and Spanish to help guide you in a practice to take care of yourself. Keeping a consistent routine with physical activity, school work, connecting with friends, eating well, and a good sleep routine will help you stay balanced and honor your well-being!
We know being at home for so long can be difficult for so many different reasons. Remember to stay connected with your family, friends, and school. Look below for some fun apps that help you stay connected while staying at home. There are only 3 weeks left in the semester, so connect with your teachers, or the IT helpline, if needed. Have you registered for summer school? Check out the links below to stay connected to your school!
Last, but certainly not least, we are so proud of the CLASS of 2020. No one imagined you would be ending your senior year at home. EUHSD looks forward to celebrating you and we have just released information about a progressive graduation celebration! Check out below along with information about this Saturday's televised event for the Class of 2020!
We hope you all are doing well and look forward to seeing you all soon!
Your EUHSD Social Work Team
EUHSD seniors will have a multi-phase graduation recognition which includes:
• Senior pick up of cap and gown via drive-thru style on campus.
• EUHSD Senior Celebration Video, not to be confused with a graduation ceremony. The Senior Celebration Video is meant to be a united message of hope, inspiration, and congratulations from students and staff across our district. The video will be broadcasted for all to view on May 29.
• Senior pictures on campus in cap and gown receiving their diploma with a graduation stage backdrop. Seniors may come to campus with limited members of their immediate household for photo appointments.
• Face-to-Face Graduation Ceremony which will be held at a future date after we are given permission to gather by our public health department.
Express Your Well-Being
Plant care is self-care
Consider spending time gardening as a self-care activity, whether it is planting new seeds or caring for the plants in our home. Planting seeds and caring for them can support our mental well-being by encouraging us to practice acceptance and be present, and it can be a productive coping mechanism for dealing with stress, anxiety and depression.
