Lions Park Paw Prints

Letter from the Principal

Dear Lions Park Families,

We have had a wonderful week filled with kindness as Lions Park participated in the Great Kindness Challenge. It has been exciting to see students and staff doing kind acts and showing care and appreciation to one another in many ways. I am very proud of our third, fourth and fifth grade students and their teachers for working hard on the IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness).

We have many things planned for our last week before spring break! The PTO science fair has over a hundred student participants. We are excited to see what our students discovered in doing their experiments. Students will be able to come view the projects on Wednesday afternoon during school. Families are welcome to come from 5:30-6:30pm.

Second and fifth grades will have fire safety presentations next week from the Mount Prospect Fire Department. On Thursday second grade will learn about kitchen safety, candle safety, crawling low under smoke and how to exit your home in a fire. On Friday fifth grade will hear about different types of severe weather and watch videos about tornados. In addition, fifth grade will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Katie Kelly
