Spring has sprung!

Pete the Cat!

Welcome back from spring break. We hope you had a relaxing time off with your families and friends. There are just 9 weeks of school left for three year olds and 10 weeks for 4K! The theme for this month is Pete the Cat! We began talking about Pete the Cat and his school shoes, his groovy buttons and his cool sunglasses.

Activities we are using to help us meet our goals:

1. Interactive and animated books about Pete the Cat

2. Shapes, colors and concepts songs/fingerplays

3. Mimio interactive BIG and small sorting Pete the Cat

4. Letters in our name assembly, writing and recall

5. Concepts such as in front of, behind, between, up/down, high/low, full/empty

6. Number sense with buttons

7. Color atching sorting and naming

8. Cutting and snipping, coloring small pictures with contorl

9. Answering personal questions

10. What are they doing? Action song

11. Following two to three step directions

12. Ten frames for counting and organizing numbers

13. Taking turns, practicing waiting, forming a line

14. Using iPad apps to increase fine motor, math, letter ID, and letter sounds skills

Looking Ahead!

Just a reminder to register your child for the afternoon K4 program if he/she will turn the age of 4 before September 1, 2016. An email reminder has also gone out regarding this. If you have any questions, please contact one of us. We are happy to help.
