Husky Howler
September 10, 2021
Dear Hill-Roberts Families:
We held our first fire drill of the year this morning. All students and staff did a wonderful job evacuating the building in a quiet, orderly fashion. The entire building was empty within 2 minutes, 39 seconds which is pretty impressive when you consider the fact that we have nearly 500 students and staff in the building. We will have three more fire drills, as well as other safety drills (e.g., shelter in place, enhanced lockdown, etc.) as the year progresses.
As of this week, we've only received consent for just under 25% of our students to take part in our routine covid safety testing program. I cannot stress enough the importance of including your child(ren) in the program, especially when taking into consideration the fact that none of our students are eligible to be vaccinated yet. Please see below for more important information, including a link to the COVID-19 Testing Letter which contains instructions for providing consent for your child. You should have received a Remind Message from the district regarding the roll-out date of 9/27. Please reach out to the school if you did not receive it so we can make sure you're on the district's announcement distribution list.
Lastly, Picture Day is coming in a few weeks. Please check your child(ren)'s bag for the order form.
Sincerely,
Frank W. Rich, Principal
COVID Testing Program
As this is a new program, we will need all families to provide consent. The link to do so can be found in the letter mentioned above.
Evelyn Silva Memorial Art Gallery
This is a wonderful way to celebrate local artists as well as to bring professional art to our students. We've even been lucky enough to have some of the artists spend time working with our students during art classes.
Below is the first installation of the year.
Hello Husky Families!
