Message from the Principal: Nov. 16th
Today started with a bit of unintended excitement. The electrical cord on the milk refrigerator began sparking, which caused smoke in the auditorium. The breaker was immediately turned off, the kids were evacuated from the building, the refrigerator unit was unplugged, and the area was aired out. We are working with an electrician and are happy to report that all is well and the kids did a fantastic job of evacuating. Today actually happened to be our scheduled fire drill day!
Report cards also go home in the envelopes today. Conferences are next Monday or Tuesday. If you have still not signed up, we will be assigning slots, so please make sure you sign up to get the time and day you want. Also, the deadline for financial assistance through the Fulcrum Foundation is approaching very soon...Dec. 2nd!! ANYONE needing ANY financial assistance (anyone who is not a full pay family) MUST apply for Fulcrum before being considered for financial aid. Remember to include all expenses and have last year's tax documents available so that the application can be easily verified. Matching Funds Available for Annual Fund Appeal!
Our Annual Fund Appeal has raised almost $60,000 with a goal of hitting $100,000. We have secured matching funds up to $25,000. So any donation will be matched dollar for dollar through December! We have had 26% of school families participate so far! Thank you so much for your support of this important appeal.

The Crab Feed/Auction is right around the corner! This is a very important fundraiser for our school. Each family has a commitment to provide a $100 item. This may include a payment to the office in the form of cash or check, gift cards to local restaurants, businesses, sporting events, or places of interest. Families may also provide vouchers for goods and services such as catering, lawn maintenance, baked goods - etc.
Another way to get donations is to solicit local businesses. Because we are a 501c3, businesses can write off these donations. If you want to ask your grocery store, hair salon, or local restaurants we have procurement forms in the office. Check-in with Berenice if you would like to do this option.
New this year; you can enroll in Amazon Smile and purchase items that will be used to make up auction gift baskets!
