Celebrate Earth Day
Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day on April 22, 1970 while he was working as a US senator. Over the past forty eight years this movement has grown and continues to be a worldwide phenomenon. This year's theme is "End Plastic Pollution".
During our Week in Review we discussed the importance and history of Earth Day. As I was speaking to the students I challenged them to do something on Sunday April 22 to help clean up our planet. I encouraged them to involve their families and to take a picture of their activity and send it to me (dprima@btboe.org). I would love to make a short presentation of all the BTES students and families making a difference on this day.
