What We've Been Doing This Week
The Letter of the Week was "J." We concentrated on naming objects that start with the /j/ sound. When reading a story or watching T.V., you can help your child remember the letter "j" by pointing out things that start with /j/.
The Number of the Week was "3." We always count each day and we've been working on counting to 10. We practiced counting quickly "1, 2, 3!" You can help your child with their counting skills by objects or counting how long it takes to do an activity (such as brushing your teeth.)
The Shape of the Week was a diamond. The little rhyme we used was "Danny Diamond has four sides. All of them are diagonal lines. We've continued to work on the shapes circle, triangle, and square as well.
The Color of the Week was black. So far we've worked on the colors red, blue, yellow, purple, and green as well. You can help your child learn their colors by saying the colors of the objects, such as "Here is the red cup."

Snow Delays and Days Update
If Gouverneur Central School District has a delay or a snow day, then your child will also have a delay or a snow day.
If Gouverneur is running on time, but your home school district has a delay or a snow day, then your child will have a snow day. At this time, First Student will not be doing a second run.
If your district is running on time, but the bus needs to travel through a district that is experiencing bad weather, it is up to the bus driver and First Student whether it is safe to transport your child to school. If they determine its not, they will call you to let you know.
