McCarthyism VS Salem Witch Trials
By: Caitlin Johnson
McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations without having the proper evidence or information. It is also known as the "Red Scare" which heightened the fear of the communist impact on the American lifestyle. During this time many people were accused of being communist. People often assumed that others were communist without any evidence leading to it.
Salem Witch trials
The Salem Witch trials were trials held against people who were being accused of being a witch. These women were wrongly accused and never got the chance to defend themselves. They were killed for not admitting to they were witches. Women that admitted they were witches survived.
Between the Red Scare and the Salem Witch trials accusations were made. The people that made these crazy accusations had no factual evidence that they were right. Many people suffered from death and were jailed due to people making unfair judgements.
