How to Overcome Colleges' Hurdles
In 5 Easy Steps!
Research your Audience
Not all people will take your humor or your story the correct way. Research others' college essays and see the common pros and cons. Find out what they are looking for. Once you have all the cons eliminate them from your rough draft(s.)
Write something personal
Write a story about how you touched a lego and wanted to become an architect, or watching your grandfather invent something life changing. Even if it isn't about you, make it about someone else and how you want to, and have inspired others.
Allow someone to Review your Essay
Allowing someone to go over it will allow you to have more criticism and guide you to where you want to be. If you open up more you'll allow yourself to expand on your topic.
STUDY!
Without studying no college will approve of your GPA. Your GPA needs to be pretty high for colleges to give money. They do not want anyone giving half of what they have.
Plan out what YOU Want
There are a TON of scholarships of any kind from something as simple as being a high school graduate to as detailed as playing on a varsity team a few days a week. You need to figure out what you want and what gives you the drive to accomplish this.
