A Monthly E-Newsletter for Spotswood Public Schools
In just two short weeks we will end the 2015-16 school year and begin summer vacation. I'd like to congratulate the staff members who will retire at the end of the school year and start their permanent summer vacation. May retirement be long, healthy, and a happy one for all of you. Additionally, I'd like to wish the very best to staff members who are leaving us this year for new jobs, experiences, and opportunities. Thank you for your service to our school district.
This school year has been challenging and rewarding. Our budget was a challenge this year but the passage of our referendum and work you did with our students was rewarding. Your efforts to provide our students with great learning environments is much appreciated.
The summer will be busy in our schools as the bulk of the referendum work will be done during the summer. We have a good start with work started on the Appleby blacktop, high school bleachers and track, district telephone system, and the high school locker rooms. However, there are a number of other projects that will start on June 20th and go through the summer. Please check the website, our Twitter handle, and Facebook page for updates all summer long.
Additionally, please see the two forms below for you to complete before the end of the year. The first is the summer address form and the second is for staff interested in serving on the District LLC and / or FACT. This summer we are also entering our second year of a summer event called #ChargersOnTheRoad. I encourage all of you to participate by taking pictures with your Charger or Spotswood gear while on vacation or visiting interesting places. Then email it to us with your name, who is in the picture and where you are to ChargersOnTheRoad@spsd.us and we will post it on our Google Map for the summer. Last year this was a fun activity to see where our Chargers on the Road went around the world.
Finally, I wish all of you a happy and relaxing summer. I hope you spend time with your family and get to recharge for the coming school year.
See you in September.
